Emergency Services Services Provided
Services
The ESCSB crisis response team is trained to help individuals resolve the crisis in the least restrictive, recovery oriented method possible. This may include:
- telephone counseling
- a face to face appointment
- crisis stabilization services
- in-patient hospitalization
- follow-up appointments with an ESCSB provider or private provider in the community
In the event an individual is in need of emergency intervention and is not willing to participate in an emergency assessment, per the Code of Virginia, the crisis staff may obtain an emergency custody order (ECO) or temporary detention order (TDO) to facilitate the person getting their treatment needs met on an involuntary basis.
When an inpatient setting is needed, the ESCSB crisis responder will consult with community providers or facilitate an admission in an inpatient setting. For individuals who are without health insurance, crisis staff members may facilitate an inpatient admission with funds available through the HPR-V Reinvestment Program.
The emergency staff also provide discharge planning and follow-up appointments for individuals after their discharge from an inpatient setting.
The Emergency Services of ESCSB are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
